This has contributed to a toxic work environment and in some cases employees leaving the organization. I’m surprised this pattern has continued without meaningful intervention from HR.

Learn to lead by example, not through micromanagement, intimidation or degrading the people who work for you. Leadership is about building people up, earning respect and creating an environment where your team can succeed, not making people feel small or driving good employees out.
